I’m currently doing a risky (hahaha) Google Ad experiment on Indonesia’s Cabinet members. I’m purchasing their name on Google Adwords (there are 34 of them). Hopefully when they’re googling their name (everyone does it, even the ministers), they will see my ads on their computer screen.
Some examples of the Ads that I’ve been created can be found below:
So basically I say ‘hi’ to them in the ad, and congratulate them for being chosen as a minister (cabinet member). I also remind them of our high expectation.
And this is how they appear on Google results (credit to freeazy at reddit Indonesia):
And here’s the screenshot of my dashboard:
you can check the complete list of the cabinet at http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabinet_Kerja
I’m so eager to see the results 😀
UPDATE (6/11/2014, 18:38 pm)
The experiment has been running for almost 48 hours, and attracts a few hipster media including this one. I’m planning to run this experiment as long as my wallet can stand (that means around 30 more days).
I finally got the initial result of the experiment. You may download the excel file here: minister google ad report. I removed the total cost and cost-per-click of my ads in the aforementioned report. I would love to see my competitor (if any) overspend.
I also printscreened my Google Adwords account to provide some illustrations for the analysis:
In summary, the campaign received 9363 impressions and 70 clicks. It received the most impressions and clicks from “susi pudjiastuti” keyword (8371/52). This is not surprising as bu Susi is in the spotlight at the moment. The second position goes to “Puan Maharani” with 367 impression and 3 clicks, while Amran Sulaiman the new comer is on the third place with 145/4.
So far, I haven’t seen any pattern on the result. There are five name without any impression (surprisingly the popular Khofifah indar Parawangsa is one of them). Maybe they don’t do self-googling on weekdays, lets wait till weekend.
Btw, I spotted an ad for ‘Susi Pudjiastuti’ today from another website. I didn’t manage to capture it though.
